Artist's Comments

I feel so honored to be doing an art trade with *silver-eyes-blue. I really admire her artwork (and how fast she's able to do it!) and it's great that she'd do an art trade with me even though my art isn't nearly as good as hers. I was also really excited to be able to draw her character Diana as I just loved the story she wrote and an image that I wanted to draw came to my mind right away. I just hope that my art can do credit to the character she so lovingly designed.

I have had this drawn for awhile, but it looked horrible when I scanned it until I remembered that my scanner desaturates pictures horribly and I upped the saturation in Photoshop. So I'm sorry for the long wait, and over such a silly thing too, so I really hope you like it :iconsilver-eyes-blue:

Anyway, the idea of the drawing is what it might be like to love the moon. I chose not to draw Lun in his human form for various reasons (one of which is that I really can't draw guys), but mostly because I felt that to really love Lun Diana would have to love him for who he was, even if that was just a glowing ball of light at that moment (though I must say, it'd probably make for an interesting wedding night. ;) ) As for the moon on her forehead and the wings sprouting from her back, I intended for those both to have been made of artificial material originally (silk for the wings and gold for the moon), but for one moment when they first became one,

"And for just one moment, an instant so brief that she would sometimes later wonder if she had just imagined it, the moon on her forehead glowed with a radiance brighter than anything so corporeal as gold and the wings that sprouted from her back were no more made of silk than a butterfly's very own wings would have been."

It's intended to be a symbol that from that moment on, she was pregnant with what was literally the moon's daughter, sort of like the way Usagi was able to tell that "a new star had been born" when she first became pregnant with Chibi-Usa.

And once again I wrote too much. I really need to work on that.

Awwwwwwwwww, thank you! ^^ She looks so beautiful, and I love the story behind it. ^^

I grew to really love Diana and Lun, and I am always glad to hear other people's interpretations of their love. ^^

Thank you so much for drawing this for me. ^^ :hug:

I plan to write a story for Selene, Diana's daughter, too, so maybe once that is done, we will do another art trade? ^^ Because I am always amused and intrigued by your wonderful talent to explain and describe your views on things. ^^

I'm glad you like it. :3

And I'd love to do another art trade. This one was really fun and I LOVE the art you did of Riri. <3

Right now I'm working on a group shot of Riri, Chiemi, Aiko, and Acacia (you can see the progress I'm making on the line art on my page), but after I'm done with that and you're done with the story we can do another art trade. :3 Besides, that will give you one more reference to work with for my characters. >D

lol I have no idea when I shall be done with the story, since it is barely started, so there is absolutely no rush. XD Plus, the language course that I have to take for my German visa is taking up a lot of my time, so everything is a bit slower now. ^^;

Such a gorgeous Diana, she looks very content and happy! I love her soft fairy wings, they really fit her perfectly, and the story behind them are lovely! :D

Thank you. ^-^ I think her fairy wings turned out well too. I like how I managed to make them semi-transparent over her hair. It's great when things turn out how you want them to. <3

I'm glad that you like the story as well. :3
